Michael C. Rakower is the recipient of the New York State Bar Association’s Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year Award for 2006. Lawyers USA Names Michael C. Rakower Mr. Rakower’s article titled RICO Damages After Set-Off: Treble vs. Double Recoveries was published by the New York Law Journal in March 2008. Highly praised, the article was re-published in the Civil RICO Report and in the New York State Bar Association’s NY Litigator. Mr. Rakower's essay entitled The Khmer Rouge: An Analysis of One of the World's Most Brutal Regimes was published in January 2006 in To Oppose Any Foe: The Legacy of U.S. Intervention in Vietnam, a compilation of essays on the historical, legal, and contemporary legacy of the Vietnam War. Mr. Rakower has become a noted speaker on matters relating to genocide and international criminal tribunals. Among other speaking engagements, Mr. Rakower and his wife, Sali, spoke at Albany Law School in April 2006 about their experience working in the Prosecutor’s Office of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. In May 2006, Mr. Rakower’s former law firm, Latham & Watkins, published an “Alumni Spotlight” highlighting Mr. Rakower’s recent achievements on its website. In June 2006, Mr. Rakower’s article entitled Improving ECF Filings, was published in the Federal Bar Council News, Vol. XIII, No. 2. In December 2005, Mr. Rakower served as the moderator for the Federal Bar Council’s Heroes of the Bar: A Salute to Pro Bono Achievements in 2005, a panel discussion honoring lawyers responsible for some of the most remarkable pro bono success stories of the year. In December 2005, Mr. Rakower served as a panelist for a discussion at the New York City Bar Association entitled Employment Litigation Under Title VII: Racial Slurs in the Workplace. In November 2005, Mr. Rakower served as the moderator of the “Technology News” discussion at the New York City Bar Association's Law Practice Management Symposium. In April 2005, Mr. Rakower served as a panelist for the Federal Bar Council’s Is it Too Late to Clerk, a discussion examining which examined the benefits of clerking for federal judges after the start of one’s law career.
Mr. Miller’s law review article, Combating Copyright Infringement in Russia: A Comprehensive Approach for Western Plaintiffs, was published in the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law in November 2000
